A kitchen peninsula connects a projecting cabinet run to a wall or another run. Model the connection and the walking route together before deciding whether the extra worktop improves your room.

A practical workflow
01
Compare the current layout
Save the existing kitchen before adding a peninsula. Mark the main walking route and the doors that open into the room. Compare a connected run with a separate island using the same room dimensions and cabinet depths.
02
Check the connected end
Inspect the corner in plan and elevation. A visually continuous worktop can hide a cabinet door that cannot open or an awkward storage corner. Confirm how the selected supplier builds the junction, including fillers and support for any overhang.
03
Review both sides
Save views from the cooking area and the adjoining room. Show seating only where the actual worktop and support system permit it. Review appliance doors, chairs and the remaining passage with your measured plan before treating the arrangement as final.
Choose the right starting point
Manual kitchen planning and browser-made Free photos are free. Photo Build requires sign-in and an available allowance or paid credit. The upload dialog shows any active promotional offer and its end date.
During Photo Build week, a qualifying promotional build includes an editable draft and one High render of that kitchen. Drawing exports and additional High photos are paid separately. A paid credit makes one kitchen Premium; see current pack prices and allowances.
Questions about this workflow
Can a peninsula replace an island in a small kitchen?
It can be an option, but a connected run still needs usable circulation and door clearance. Test both arrangements against your room measurements and supplier requirements.
What can I do next in Kitchform?
Open a kitchen project, review the layout and save a camera view. Compare the result with the plan and check the selected kitchen’s access before making a Premium High photo.
